Accessibility statement

The ThunderStack project aims to make thunderstacks.eu accessible to everyone, including people using assistive technologies. This statement applies to all pages of the website and the content published on them.

Compliance status

This website partially meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. The exceptions are listed below.

What we have done

Text and background colours meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements. Pages use a clear heading structure and descriptive link texts. Logos and images have text alternatives. The layout adapts to mobile screens and to text enlarged up to 200%. All pages can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. Animations are reduced when the visitor's device requests reduced motion. Links that open another website are marked for screen reader users. The cookie banner can be used with a keyboard and offers "Accept all" and "Decline all" on equal terms.

Frequently updated content

The News & events page is updated frequently throughout the project (2026–2029) with project results, publications, dissemination materials and events. Public results are published as web text wherever possible, and PDF documents are accompanied by a short summary on the page. Scientific publications are linked to the publisher's or repository's open access version; the accessibility of these external documents is the responsibility of the publisher. Posters, presentations and event materials are described in text, and event images include text alternatives.

Non-accessible content

Non-compliance: some PDF documents produced by project partners, such as presentations, posters and reports, may not be fully accessible to screen readers (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1, 2.4.2). The cookie preferences panel is provided by the website platform (Squarespace) and cannot be fully adjusted by the project (WCAG 1.4.12).

Disproportionate burden: we do not claim disproportionate burden for any content on this website.

Content outside the scope of the law: third-party content that is not funded, developed or controlled by the project, such as LinkedIn posts, publisher websites and event platforms linked from this site.

If you need any of this content in an accessible format, please contact us and we will provide it within 14 days.
